A Little About Me
Bonjour! I'm Julie – your local cut flower farmer here at Le Gers en Fleurs. I’m based in the heart of the Gers (Department 32), just a stone’s throw from the vibrant jazz village of Marciac.
2024 has been a year of learning and growth – a development season where I’ve trialled seeds, tested bulbs, and slowly shaped the structure of my small flower farm.
Every single bloom I harvest is 100% grown here, from seed or bulb, using bio growing methods. I don’t use any pesticides, and while I’m not certified organic, I follow natural and regenerative practices to care for the soil and surrounding biodiversity.
My bloom season runs from April to October, with flowers chosen for their ability to thrive in the heat and support local pollinators. These are real flowers – grown here in the Gers, freshly picked, and in your vase within 24 hours of harvest.
You can find me at local markets across the region – including Marciac on Wednesday mornings – and I’m also hoping to set up a little flower stand right here on the farm.
Although French isn’t my first language (I’m originally from Scotland), I’m keen to practise and improve. Being at the markets and chatting with local customers is a wonderful opportunity – so thank you for your patience and support as I find my voice en français!
